📋 Entry Requirements Overview

🛂 Visa-Free Entry

Citizens from visa waiver countries can stay up to 90 days without a visa. Check if your country is eligible for visa-free entry.

✈️ K-ETA

Electronic Travel Authorization for visa-free eligible travelers. Currently optional until Dec 31, 2025.

📄 Tourist Visa (C-3)

Required for countries not eligible for visa-free entry or stays exceeding 90 days.

✅ Pre-Entry Checklist

  • Check Visa-Free Eligibility: Verify if your country has a visa exemption agreement with South Korea
  • K-ETA Application (Optional): Until Dec 31, 2025, K-ETA is waived – you can enter without it
  • Valid Passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months
  • Return Ticket: Have proof of onward/return travel
  • Accommodation Details: Prepare your hotel/stay information

🎫 Visa Types Explained

C-3 Visa

Short-Term Tourist Visa

For: Tourism, visiting friends/family, attending conferences or seminars

Duration: Up to 90 days

Application: Apply online at www.visa.go.kr or at Korean embassy/consulate

C-3-4 Visa

Short-Term Business Visa

For: Market research, business meetings, contract negotiations

Note: Does NOT permit paid employment in Korea

Work Visas

Employment Visas (E-1, E-2, etc.)

For: Those seeking paid employment in Korea

Examples: E-2 (English teacher), E-1 (Professor)

Requirement: Must match specific job category and purpose

📢 Current Status: K-ETA is optional until December 31, 2025. However, you may still apply if you wish to streamline your entry process.

⚠️ Important K-ETA Information

  • Apply at least 72 hours before departure to ensure processing time
  • K-ETA is NOT a visa – final entry decision is made by immigration officers
  • Application fee is non-refundable even if denied
  • False information will result in denial and possible entry ban
  • Valid for multiple entries within 3 years (or until passport expires)
  • Must reapply if passport is renewed or personal information changes
  • K-ETA holders are exempt from arrival card submission
📱 Update Travel Information: If your travel plans change after receiving K-ETA approval, you must update your information (accommodation, arrival date, etc.) on the K-ETA website to avoid entry issues.

❗ Critical Reminders

🚫 Reapplication Policy: If your K-ETA application is denied, reapplying will likely result in another denial unless there’s a significant change in circumstances.
⚖️ False Information: Submitting false information may result in entry ban and legal penalties.
📝 Passport Changes: If you renew your passport or update personal information, you must apply for a new K-ETA regardless of the existing approval’s validity period.
⏰ Processing Delays: Due to increased applications, apply at least 72 hours before your flight. There is NO expedited processing.
